Cherryville BC, Canada was originally named Cherry Creek after wild choke cherries growing in the creek area. In the 1800s the locale was a gold mining camp. After being connected through Lumby, the area developed with orchards. Today Cherryville remains an unincorporated community as the base of the Monashee Mountains with a population of more than 600. more...

Cherryville amenities include a branch of the Okanagan Regional Library, two general stores, restaurants and campgrounds. Along the Shuswap River you will find a summer recreation area sponsored by BC Hydro, and a hisoric 'gold panner' style restaurant. The hiking and fishing in Cherryville BC will satisfy outdoor enthusiasts; also available is golf and this corner of the North Okanagan lends itself perfectly to cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter.
Escape from the crowds and enjoy the great outdoors! There are so many opportunities for tranquility, observing nature, and browsing small shops and artisans work. Each year the Cherryville Artisans Guild hosts an artisan and crafts festival. Cherryville BC is about 30 minutes drive from Lumby BC and 45 minutes from Vernon BC along Highway 6.
Cherryville real estate is most commonly of the mid-sized acreage (5-10 acres) and recreational property type. 5 to 20 acres of land with or without a house is common. Because there is a lot of range land and agriculture in Cherryville BC, farms and ranches for sale are generally available throughout the year. The nearest supermarket is in Lumby, and the nearest shopping mall and movie theatres are found in Vernon BC.
