The city centre and downtown is situated down in the valley and is surrounded by short mountains on most sides which make up distinct neighbourhoods of Vernon BC such as Turtle Mountain, Alexis Park, Foothills, Middleton Mountain, East Hill, Mission Hill and others.

Kin Beach in Vernon BC is at the north end of Okanagan Lake in Okanagan Landing neighbourhood. Right below Bella Vista, the beach area is easily accessed from all around the city. Featured at the beach is a park with barbeques and a covered pavilion, a playground, family beach and also a dog beach.
