Silver Star Village is open year-round, and offers hotel and vacation rental accomodation, restaurants and cafes, and smog free weather above the normal cloud bank. Hi-speed quad lifts have been installed in recent years, allowing more runs per day to happy Okanagan, Canadian, American, and world skiers and snowboarders.
Just 20 minutes from Vernon BC, the ski mountain is so close that locals can work and ski all in the same day. Out-of-towners can descend the mountain into Vernon BC for shopping and entertainment at any time and enjoy a change of pace from Silver Star Ski Mountain.
Silver Star Village has many cafes and restaurants including Bugaboos where this Silver Star image was taken from. This main part of the village is central to most of the ski runs allowing skiers and snowboarders to quickly refresh and get some energy to complete more ski runs.
Silver Star homes and condos have been a great investment and new condos are still being finished because this ski mountain is so popular. In 2009 a one bedroom condo with ensuite and second bath at Silver Star BC is still reasonably priced in the $160,000 to $280,000 range. These BC Canada ski condos generally have ski-in ski-out location, and sleep six. Many of the units are in the hotel rental pool and owners can share rental income with the hotel rental management. Other options include Silver Star houses, duplexes, and some condo units not in the rental. As a real estate investment, BC ski homes are commonly rented out for one or two weeks at a time in peak ski season.
